Bespoke Counselling comprises three fully qualified counsellors/psychotherapists. Each of us offer slightly differing areas of experience, and we are all committed to maintaining the highest standards of therapy. As a new client you may choose which of us to work with, or provide us with some details and we will choose who we believe is best suited to your needs.
Each of us is qualified to practice using both the psychodynamic and person centred modalities. This offers us an extensive overview of counselling in its broadest sense. As such, we are able to ‘tailor’ the therapy to the precise need of each client. By choosing to work together, we believe the resulting ‘synergy’ imparts a dynamic and creative environment for the benefit of each client.
We offer sessions lasting 60 minutes.

Counsellor/Psychotherapist (PG Dip, BA (Hons), MBACP, MCOSCA)
There are times when life feels challenging, difficult, frightening or simply ‘flat’ and it may be hard to see a clear way forward. Counselling can be a powerful dynamic for change; it offers clarity and hope by bringing focus and understanding. The decision to enter into a counselling relationship may feel daunting, yet the benefits can be immeasurable. Facing the reality of who we are requires trust and commitment from both client and counsellor. Brief periods of reflection may be as helpful as longer-term work.
You may be considering counselling because you want to work on a specific problem, such as bereavement or relationship issues. However, counselling isn’t always about resolving a problem; it can also help you develop as a person, make the most of your abilities, and find a better way of living.
I trained at the University of Edinburgh in both Person Centred and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and offer counselling using elements from both these perspectives. This allows me to accept the client fully and also respond to the patterns of behaviour and unconscious traits we all carry with us.
I have experience of working with adults, young people and children, in both long and short-term therapy.

How does counselling work?
Our logo symbolises the multiplicity of parts contained in the mind of each person. We understand that a person has feelings on different levels and can feel very low on one level but joyful on another. We aim to value every part of our client and see them as a whole person and not as a symptom or an emotion.
As professional counsellors, we are trained and experienced in receiving this narrative in an attentive and dynamic way: each re-telling will be different in subtle ways, and as you hear yourself speak, new thoughts may arise. We notice these small changes, and work with you to increase your awareness and altering perception. Physical responses, as well as thought processes, are linked to gain a more complete understanding and broader perspective.
Our counselling service is absolutely confidential. This will be discussed further at your initial appointment.
